Master’s studies in radiography are open in the Baltic countries at Tartu Health Care College. The opening of the master’s programme is a logical continuation of the radiography curriculum at the bachelor level that was opened in 1999 and has successfully passed international evaluation. The 2-year master’s programme in radiography (specialisation field Radiotherapy) is aimed at radiographers working in radiotherapy or willing to commence working in the field of radiotherapy. Radiotherapy is a relevant field of medicine due to increasing cancer rates. Radiotherapy uses high-tech equipment that is constantly evolving, resulting in a need for radiotherapy radiographers with excellent specialist competences.

The master’s programme in radiography is aimed to support professional development among radiographers by providing the students with the competences required for

• specialist work in clinical settings
• conduct of research
• a teaching position
• a management position

Excellent learning infrastructure at the college, as well as cutting edge medical technology and competent supervisors in clinical settings are supporting the clinical skill development of students. Theoretical studies and practical training are conducted by the teaching staff involving internationally recognised experts in the field. The language of instruction is English.

Master in Radiography in Radiotherapy  (starts February 2023)

Master's Programme in Radiography, Radiotherapy specialization begins in February 2023.

Form of study: Full-time study
Workload of programme: 120 ECTS
Standard period of study: 2 years
Language of instruction: English
Conditions for commencing studies: Bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in Radiography
The applicants are ranked based on the following two criteria: 

• the average result of the applicant's Bachelor studies (40 %)
• admission interview (60 %)

The programme consists of the following modules:

• Master's thesis (30 ECTS)
• Specialist subjects in Radiotherapy (30 ECTS) 
• Internship in Radiotheray (30 ECTS)
• Basic subjects (30 ECTS, incl. elective subjects 6 ECTS)

Title of academic degree awarded on graduation: Master's Degree in Radiography (Radiotherapy)

Tuition fee: 3300 EUR per academic year. The tuition fees of each semester has to be paid before the beginning of studies of the particular semester. 

There are tuition waivers available for top-ranked applicants in 2022, including four (4) tuition waivers for Estonian applicants and four (4) tuition waivers for EU/Georgia applicants. In addition, there are three (3) tuition waivers for other applicants from Ukraine who can also apply for scholarships.
